Robert R. PusinsRobert Pusins is an expert in the field of police practices and procedures, with over 35 years of progressive law enforcement experience, including supervisory, management and executive command staff positions. He retired after 30 years of service with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and, most recently (2018), served five years as an executive director with the Broward Sheriff's Office. He has held the titles of police officer, field training officer, detective, sergeant, captain, major, assistant police chief and executive director.

He holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is also a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute and is a 2015 graduate of the Force Science Institute.

He has consulted on police misconduct, arrests, use of force, deadly force, wrongful death, police pursuits, police tactics, E-911 Communications, policies and procedures, and hiring and retention.

Professional case consulting services include a comprehensive case evaluation and review from the perspective of proper and accepted police practices and procedures. Included is an extensive review of all case file materials and relevant and authoritative professional standards. A review of the law enforcement agency’s written policies and procedures is a critical step to determine both officer compliance and the extent to which the agency adheres to reasonable professional standards and best practices.

When requested, comprehensive and detailed expert reports are completed and submitted. Bob also has extensive experience in offering testimony in depositions and has provided trial testimony in numerous state and federal courts as a qualified expert.
